Merry "After" Christmas

For those of you that I finally admitted I had a blog to, and those who may come to see what's up, I thought I would drop in to say hi. Christmas went well and I got the last minute projects done (at the very last minute). Brooke's quilt turned out beautiful and bright. I will have to post a picture later. I also made three flip flop vacation albums for the girls and I was literally up until 2 am on Christmas morning putting the finishing touches on them. The day after Christmas I slept in and then read an entire book that day. One that Savannah got for Christmas called the Seer of Shadows. It was so great just to lay in bed and do nothing. Last night Dave's brother Mathew and his family arrived for a week from Washington and also we had his Uncles from California over. Well I kept getting phone calls and more and more people added to the dinner list. 21 in all. But I made one of our favorite recipes of Chicken Marsala and all turned out great. Kaitlyn has her first gym meet tomorrow, an inner squad, but I am still looking forward to it. I am sure to be kept busy the rest of the week, so I will say goodbye until next year! Happy New Year!

background paper

Just to let you know that the paper behind the purses has a light gray argyle pattern that didn't show up on the scan, so of course the card looks way cuter in real life.

Cards, cards, and more cards

Well this week I am a little less stressed than last week when I was making Christmas cards and crafts for my neighbors boutique. I made over 1oo cards and some mini star scrapbooks as well as some cute christmas ornaments. This week I have begun the new birthday card of the month for my ward. This is one calling that I really enjoy. Sure it takes time, but I love creating cards that I know people will love receiving (at least people tell me they love them). So I saw this cute card on another site and I revamped it a bit with different colors and added a bow. What do you think? This card took 7 different punches to make! I luckily had 5 out of the seven and then borrowed the other two from my friend Lynne who usually has anything I don't. Good thing she lives so close. I also worked on a mini flip flop album for my daughters for Christmas. I am making three. They are fun, but take a lot of work. I will try to post a picture of that as soon as I finish, (or maybe after Christmas in case the girls ever check my blog).

Little by Little

I am still getting used to the idea that I have a blog, let alone remember to use it once and a while. My goal is to have some pictures posted in the next week or so and then I will feel official. My sister-in-law Carrie, was going to come help me set all this up and help me personalize my blog , but my kids got sick and so that has been postponed. Just so you know my creativity doesn't come in the form of computer knowledge, so just bear with me and hopefully I'll get it together soon. I'd like to thank Sabine and Jennifer for being my first two followers, I feel so loved now. (Just a minute while I grab a hankie). Seriously, I look forward to staying in touch with all my friends more regularly now. Talk to you all soon!

21st Century here I am!

I would just like to thank my dear sister Sabine, for bringing me into the 21st Century. She has just helped me make a blog spot and so now I can communicate with all of my friends...isn't that great? Look for me in upcoming posts to find out what a busy scrapbook mom who loves to bowl does on a daily basis. See you all soon!
